Welcome to TGCE

A Centre of Excellence in Teacher Education

Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair, under A&N Administration, is affiliated to Pondicherry Central University and recognised by NCTE and UGC. It presently runs four different courses of Teacher Education for the benefit of the islanders, governed by the affiliation laws of the University and the recognition norms of NCTE.

In TGCE, we look at Education differently. For us, Education does not lie in the quantification of knowledge — it lies in the quality of knowledge that helps form the character of trainees, transforming them into Competent, Committed, Compassionate and Dedicated teachers who can serve the society.
